The Epsten Gallery, in partnership with The Office of Alumni Relations and Development at The Kansas City Art Institute, is pleased to present the second edition of this biennial exhibition program in 2018 featuring Kahlil Irving, China Marks and Melissa Vogley Woods. Guest juror, Quang Bao, owner and founder of 1969 Gallery in New York, NY, selected the featured artists.
To celebrate and acknowledge the efforts of all artists who submitted proposals, Mr. Bao also selected one image from each submission, featured in this online gallery.
Juror
Quang Bao was born in Can Tho, Vietnam in 1969 and immigrated to the U.S. at age six. He was educated at Boston University and Columbia University and spent ten years as an editor and writer for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and National Public Radio. In 2007, he began curating exhibitions, writing about contemporary art and advising individual and corporate collections. Recently, he was artistic director for 68projects in Berlin, Germany. In September 2016, he opened a contemporary art gallery in Manhattan’s Lower East Side called 1969.
