Curator at the Epsten Gallery since 2013, Heather originates and organizes 4-5 exhibitions annually, accompanied by a range of public programs including artist residencies, intergenerational community workshops for individuals of all ages and abilities, gallery talks, and public forums for artists, students, Village Shalom residents, and a wide range of professionals and educators working in the Greater Kansas City community. As a freelance curator, educator and writer in Kansas City, Heather has worked as a collection consultant and adjunct lecturer in the Printmaking Department at the Kansas City Art Institute, authored numerous essays for exhibitions, artists, and museum publications, contributed art criticism to the Kansas City Star, Art Papers Magazine (based in Atlanta), and Review magazine, Kansas City, and served on numerous curatorial and advisory committees including the Charlotte Street Foundation, Longview Community College Gallery of Art and Review Magazine. Heather served as Assistant Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute (1999 – 2008).
